The Treaty of Versailles: A Failed Attempt At World Peace
The Treaty of Versailles was a failure and directly led to WWII. The creation of the treaty was flawed from the start because of the use of secret diplomacy, the harsh terms it gave to Germany, and that it didn’t live up to President Wilson’s Fourteen Points speech. The consequences of this failure were economic instability, hard feelings leading to extreme nationalism in Germany, and the creation of weak new nations, all of which led to WWII.
